Tokintressant. This resume of 2013 will be in English in case any of my American friends feel like catching up on my life a little as well. The year was wonderful and devastating, and while reminiscing I can only accept that I lived. So here we go, 2013 y'all! The year started off in Gambia, where I spent a week with Jenniffer, mom and some other great people - and monkeys. I started my internship at Sundsvalls Tidning and spent a few months having the time of my life. So many different people, locations and things I would never have encountered if I chose another occupation. Here are some of my favorite pictures and/or jobs from this period: One of the best things, however, were the people I met at the paper. My fellow photographers are all fantastic human beings, and so are the reporters and other people working at ST. Every Tuesday morning we had photobreakfast. One of the photographers brought breakfast for everyone and we discussed pictures from the past week. I might have never been as excited as I was when it was decided that I got to join the team going down to Stockholm for the finals of Melodifestivalen. We were there to follow Yohio, one of this year's stars from Sundsvall. I met with him a few times before as well. I decided to go for a few projects by myself and ended up publishing a couple of my own reportages, where I both wrote the article and took the pictures. I had a thing (still do) for circus, and did quite a few jobs on the subject. The first picture is from when me and Henrik went to Copenhagen to meet up with H's cousin Emilia who studies to become a circus artist. Then I went to hang out with the gang of Circus Brazil Jack for a day, and met the illusionist Kim and his wife and assistant Jessica. It all went as far as to that the news director called me the paper's circus photographer. A title I can live with. Some jobs required specific equpiment, like turquoise onesies, hard hats and a rifle. I took a few trips down to Skåne, to meet friends and family, photograph the the graduation of Jonna and just take a break from the hills and mountains of the north. This is a moment I cherish to the most. About a month later we lost Leo, a heartbreak that turned the rest of the year into more or less of a haze. The Lovewell summer started in Florida with the shows Dear Berlin and Under the Weather, two fantastic collaborations with amazing people. I had one day "off" and spent it shopping, eating and hanging out with great people, like Jenna. After that I went on to Oskarshamn and the shows Fly Firefly and Det Var En Gång... We celebrated ten years of Lovewell Sweden. At the end of summer I attended and photographed two weddings of dear friends. Love is beautiful. Right before the last picture was taken I told them about my car crash (which also happened). Love the picture, it makes a kind of traumatic event more bearable. A few classmates and I took on a job for the city of Sundsvall. I photographed Gungner, the student choir, and the pictures were exhibited downtown. To deal with the loss of Leo, Tina and I decided to start a foundation in his name, and hand out scholarships to young photo journalists. A lot of work, but something to focus on. It ain't something you're "done with", but we mad it official in November. We're holding a vernissage/party on January 30 to fund money. We held important meetings and went to the Stockholm Photography Fair with our beautiful shirts. Fall has been crazy, and I hardly remember it at all. Foundation, school, my own business and moving in with H. I've sold my apartment and for a while now (hopefully) we will share Henrik's place. It feels great! We went on a cruise to Helsinki with the Vesterlund family, but I didn't take any pictures in Finland. Only the portrait of H eating breakfast on the boat. I spent the school year singing in the choir. Unfortunately I missed the Christmas concert, but the space party was epic. The year ended with photographing a beautiful winter wedding, hanging out with H's cousin's crazy cute kid J and starting a new project with horse girls (and yes, I got bitten). To sum it up, 2013 has really been all about unicorns.
